COVID-19 vaccination eligibility expands again in Florida

The eligibility requirements for individuals to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Florida have expanded. Starting with appointments made during tomorrow’s scheduling opportunity, all Florida K-12 and child care teachers and personnel will be eligible to make an appointment at a Publix Pharmacy.
Eligibility
In accordance with state and federal guidelines, vaccinations will be administered to
- adults under the age of 65 who are determined to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 by a physician (a completed state of Florida form is required)
- all K-12 and child care teachers and personnel
- health care professionals with direct patient contact and residents or staff members of long-term care facilities
- individuals ages 50 and older who are firefighters or sworn law enforcement officers and
- individuals ages 65 and older.
Appointments
Vaccinations are provided by appointment only, while supplies last, through the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine. Appointments cannot be made by calling Publix or the Publix Pharmacy.
The online reservation system will open Friday, March 5, at 7 a.m. Eastern time, and eligible individuals will be able to schedule appointments for Monday, March 8 and Tuesday, March 9. The online reservation system typically opens every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning for vaccine appointments at Florida Publix pharmacies, as long as we continue to receive vaccine doses from the state and federal governments and barring unforeseen circumstances. Appointments may not be available in every county during every scheduling opportunity.
Those with appointments for their second dose are not impacted by any variations in scheduling opportunities and should arrive at the COVID-19 vaccine check in area at their scheduled date and time.
Required documentation
For appointments beginning March 5, adults under the age of 65 who meet the state’s criteria of being extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 are required to provide the completed official state form found at floridahealthcovid19.gov.

Publix Pharmacy will administer the vaccine in the following counties, while supplies last: Alachua, Bay, Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Collier, Columbia, DeSoto, Duval, Escambia, Flagler, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Leon, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Miami Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Okaloosa, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Santa Rosa, Sarasota, Seminole, Sumter, Suwanee, Volusia and Walton. Publix pharmacies have also administered the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible individuals in select Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia locations. We will continue to communicate with the states in our operating area to provide COVID-19 vaccinations as part of their distribution efforts.
